Rehoboth volunteer fire company rescues dog from wetlands

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched the evening of Aug. 14 to a home off Old Landing Road to assist an animal trapped in the phragmites.
Upon arrival, Deputy Chief Kent Swarts learned a pet beagle had chased a fox into the wetlands.
RBVFC members searched the area and Swarts discovered the dog about 50 feet off the road in the wetlands. The dog was removed and returned to his owner.
