May 27, 2021

Volunteers from the Delaware River and Bay Lighthouse Foundation have readied the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse for this summer’s tours.

Tours will depart from the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal at 9 and 10:15 a.m., Saturday, July 24.

Once inside the structure, guests will be able to climb the stairway to the watch room and see the light turning in the lantern room. Each floor offers a stunning view of the National Harbor of Refuge.

Volunteers will be on hand to talk about the history of the lighthouse. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old.

Money raised from tours will be used to fund ongoing maintenance of the lighthouse.

Additional tours are scheduled for 8:30 and 9:45 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, and 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25.
