The Sermon on the Mount is the topic at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Summer Spirituality Series at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes. The Rev. Carlyle Gill will ask attendees to consider, "What makes you happy? What makes you feel blessed? What does the good life look like to you?"
Jesus was very clear about the origins of happiness, about what contributes to blessing. The Sermon on the Mount, among Jesus' most well-known teachings, is Jesus' outline of The Good Life. Attendees of this presentation about the Sermon on the Mount will learn more about Jesus' guide into blessing.
Gill, an Episcopal priest for almost 40 years, is a trained presenter of the discipline of centering prayer and a spiritual director for clergy and laity. She currently serves as priest associate at St. Peter's, Lewes.
The Summer Spirituality Series takes place at 7 p.m., every Thursday until Labor Day, in the parish hall of St. Peter’s at 211 Mulberry St. in Lewes. All presentations are free and open to the public, although donations are gratefully accepted. As in the past, fellowship and ice cream cones will follow the presentations.
