Richard J. Ewell, worked on cars

Richard James Ewell, 44, of Millsboro and formerly of Wilmington passed away at home in the loving care of his family Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. Born Dec. 2, 1967, in Wilmington, he was the son of Gary Dean Ewell and Margaret Ann Knowles Johnson, who both survive him.

He was a very loving person with a heart of gold. He liked to work on cars, often with interesting outcomes that were not exactly as expected - but it was fun to him. He was good to everyone, and was a man of good intentions. He was too soon taken, and will be greatly missed.

He is also survived by three children: Ashley Ewell, Christopher Steffe and Jamie Ewell. He also leaves his siblings: Gary Ewell Jr. and wife Donna of Millsboro, Lisa Bedwell, Daniel McAvaney of Gumboro, and Jennifer Taylor and husband Timothy of Millsboro. He is also survived by many extended family members, and friends.

A funeral service and celebration of his life will be conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior for viewing and visitation. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate. Interment is private.
