Robert 'Bob' Eline, DuPont Co. retiree
Robert "Bob" K. Eline, 84, of Lewes, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Hanover, Pa., son of the late Curtis and Romaine A. (Mathias) Eline.
Mr. Eline proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a radar specialist. Following his honorable discharge, he went to Penn State University and received an associate degree in engineering. After graduating, he began his career with DuPont in the Textile Fibers Division: Process Section, retiring as a senior engineer designer after 28 years of service.
During his leisure time, Mr. Eline enjoyed woodworking, painting, solving puzzles and fishing on the Delaware waters. He also enjoyed coaching Little League for many years. He loved traveling with his family, and working on home improvement projects and yard work. Most important, he treasured the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, Sarah and Amanda, and his recent great-granddaughter, Wren.
Mr. Eline is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley M. Eline; two daughters: Lisa Eline and her significant other, Wayne, and Deb Seale Wertz and her husband Woody; two granddaughters: Sarah Baird and her husband Jesse, and Amanda Seale; one great-granddaughter: Wren Baird. He is also survived by a brother, Bill Eline and his wife, Rosemary; and a sister, Shirley and her husband, Bill of Hanover, Pa.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 3 p.m. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Eline's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or the American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
