Robert Lofland, Delmarva Power retiree
Robert Lofland, 87, of Lewes passed away at home after a long illness Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021. He was born April 1, 1934, in Wilmington, son of the late John C. and Maude E. (Knowles) Lofland.
Mr. Lofland graduated high school in 1952. He continued his studies at Goldey -Beacom College in Wilmington.On June 8, 1963, Mr. Lofland married the love of his life, Fay Adkins. He was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Lofland enjoyed a lifelong career with Delmarva Power, retiring after 32 dedicated years. He also worked for five years as a real estate agent in the Lewes area.
Mr. Lofland was a past master of the LaFayette Lodge AF&AM, former member of the Nur Temple, member of the Scottish Rite and Shrine Club of Delaware, and a former member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Wilmington.
Mr. Lofland was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He also loved traveling and cruises. Above all, Mr. Lofland enjoyed time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lofland was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William Adkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Fay Lofland; his sister-in law, Rada Renshaw of Salisbury, Md.; his sister-in law June Dysart (Fred ) of Salisbury, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will take place Sunday, Nov. 14. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
