Pastor Robert M. Snable departed this earthly realm Monday, May 15, 2023, in Dover, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of countless lives he touched. Bob was a man of unwavering faith, unyielding dedication and unparalleled compassion.

Bob was a graduate of Princeton University (1951), Princeton Theological Seminary (1954) and Union Theological Seminary of New York, earning his Master of Sacred Theology (1961).

He was ordained in The Presbytery of Elizabeth in New Jersey June 6, 1954.

After his retirement from the U.S.A.F., Bob continued his faithful service as a Presbyterian pastor in several churches throughout Delaware, retiring in 2000 from Georgetown and Coolspring Presbyterian churches.

Bob enjoyed singing, and in his younger years running track, playing and coaching football.

After retirement, Bob enjoyed time spent at the Dover Modern Maturity Center, watching wildlife and sunsets, while snacking on Tillie’s famous baked cookies.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Matilda “Tillie” Snable; his children, Deborah Watts, Kimberly Russell, Timshal Snable, Judith Snable and Robert M. Snable Jr.; and five bonus children, Leon A. Kukulka, Matilda S. Kukulka, Bonita “Bonnie” McCann, Edward J. Kukulka and Dolores S. Michel. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a congregation and community that will forever be grateful for his faithful service and leadership.
