Robin Hood Restaurant recognized for 50 years of business
During a brief ceremony Oct. 6, Rehoboth’s Robin Hood Restaurant was presented with a General Assembly Tribute celebrating 50 years of business.
Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes, and Speaker of the House Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth, gave owners Nicki Tsoukalas and Kosta Tsoukalas the tribute, which reads, “The House and Senate are pleased to pay tribute to the Tsoukalas family of Rehoboth for the dining pleasure they have brought to countless thousands of hungry Rehoboth Beach locals and visitors at their Robin Hood Restaurant over the past 50 years.”
The tribute also recognizes Nicki’s husband, Harry, who died in September 2017. The couple opened the Rehoboth Avenue restaurant in 1968. According to the tribute, the name of the establishment was inspired by Harry’s fondness for the movie star Errol Flynn, and his portrayal of Robin Hood in 1938.
