Ronnie and Linda Souder celebrate 50 years of marriage

Lewes natives Ronnie Souder and Linda Robinson Souder celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 8 with family and friends in attendance.  Ronnie is  a 1959 graduate of Lewes High School; Linda is a 1960 graduate.

Ronnie is employed at NRG Power Plant in Vienna, Md. Linda is a retired nurse/executive director of the Methodist Manor House in Seaford. The couple resides in Georgetown, where their neighbors are their children and grandchildren.

Daughter Heidi Souder Hitchcock and husband Joel are missionary evangelists and the pastors of River City Church. They have four children - Anthony, 14; Rebekah,12; Timothy, 8; and Trey, 6.

Son Jonathan Souder is the director of fitness at the Manor House in Seaford, and his wife Kari is an administrator of Crossroad Community Church. They have two children, Ethan, 9, and Julianna, 7.

Linda and Ronnie enjoy their church, friends, and time together, and especially having their children and grandchildren so close.

Thanksgiving Day is the family highlight of the year, with dinner in the barn, many outdoor activities, cousin line-up pictures (oldest to youngest), and lots of family and friends enjoying food and fellowship.

The Souders say the success of their long and happy marriage is the Lord’s presence and direction in their lives. Their future plans for the next 50 years are "to love the Lord and each other more, and have fun."
