The Room at Cedar Grove ends year on high notes

Rock, bluegrass, jazz on tap in December
December 8, 2022

This year, The Room at Cedar Grove in Lewes has hosted jazz brunches, blues dinners and local, regional and national performers. All proceeds benefit Paul Kares, a charity supporting young musicians and aspiring culinary professionals.

The fun continues this month with several high-caliber artists. American singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs returns to the stage Friday, Dec. 9, bringing Baltimore rock ‘n’ roll as well as bluegrass. Jacobs performed with the bands Smooth Kentucky and The Bridge before forming his own group.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. and includes a four-course wine dinner. Tickets are $85.

Paul Cullen, founder of Paul Kares and The Room at Cedar Grove, will perform with local favorites The Fitzkee Brothers as part of the showcase series that spotlights young talent from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11.

Cullen is the former bass player for the classic rock band Bad Company, and he’s known locally for in-home dining experiences featuring Italian cuisine and a private concert. The Fitzkee Brothers - Drew and Alex - have played with Post Malone, Jorma Kaukonen, Tony Sciuto and local musician Robbie LaBlanc.

Tickets are $25. Food and beverages will be available for sale.

Nick Perri and special guest Walt Lafty, formerly with the rock band Silverside, will take the stage, each playing a solo set before laying together.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. and includes a four-course wine dinner. Tickets are $85.

The Cape Henlopen High School jazz band is the next group in the showcase series at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 18. This concert is free, and food and drinks will be for sale.
