Rosa ‘Cat’ Stortz, Windsor’s employee
Rosa “Cat” Catherine Stortz, 56, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was born in Baltimore, Md., June 17, 1954. She was preceded in death by her father William Clifford Stortz.
Cat graduated from Towson High School in 1972 and from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1977. After managing restaurants in Kansas City, she returned to Rehoboth and worked at Windsor’s Flowers & Plants. A faithful member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Cat served in the ESL program and she volunteered in the soup kitchen. Cat was a loving daughter, wise sister, faithful friend and a Christian.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Stortz of Rehoboth Beach; her sister, Martha Stortz of Minneapolis, Minn.; and her beloved four-pawed "children," Petit, Coco and Baby Child.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
