Roundabouts abound

New traffic patterns coming to New Road and Beaver Dam Road
October 8, 2021

Drivers can expect new traffic patterns on Beaver Dam Road and New Road in the coming weeks and months, as crews continue work on roundabouts at the entrances to two new residential subdivisions.

A section of Beaver Dam Road is currently closed while a roundabout is installed in front of the Anchors Run development near Hopkins Road. Work is set to be completed by midnight, Friday, Oct. 15, said C.R. McLeod, Delaware Department of Transportation director of community relations.

On New Road outside Lewes, crews are building a roundabout to go along with the Tower Hill community. New Road remains open as construction is being done adjacent to the roadway. McLeod said construction is anticipated to be finished by the end of November.

Both roundabouts are being funded by the developers, McCleod said.

Several other roundabouts are included in DelDOT projects throughout the Cape Region.
