Royals captured by Crabbers, steamed 66-51 at Governor’s Challenge
A 19-17 lead for the Delmarva Christian boys’ basketball team at halftime of its Governor’s Challenge finale against Crisfield wasn’t enough, as the Crabbers clawed to a 66-51 victory over the Royals Dec. 30.
Despite the loss, there were quite a few bright spots for the Royals.
Aarian Tucker put himself on the map with a 23-point performance, including a trio of three-pointers. The freshman added five boards, two assists and three steals to fill out his stat sheet. Sophomore Asher Woods collected 12 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Junior Noah Barbrow continued his production in the holiday tournament, pulling in six boards, blocking a shot, collecting two steals and scoring six points. His classmate Josh LoRusso led the Royals with 11 rebounds and also had a block.
Senior Gideon Woods led the team with three blocks and finished second with seven rebounds. He contributed five points to the cause.
The Royals will enter the new year in what is called their J-term and will begin their 2026 slate at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Polytech.
