Run for the Arts to benefit Mispillion Art League Nov. 1
Mispillion Art League and Seashore Striders will host the 8th Annual Run for the Arts 5K Run/1M Fun Walk starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 1, at Bicentennial Park on NE Front Street in downtown Milford.
Runners are encouraged to preregister online at SeashoreStriders.com by 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, to receive a discount. Race-day registration opens at 7:30 a.m., Nov. 1. Event T-shirts will go to preregistered participants, with limited availability after the Monday of race week.
Event proceeds will benefit Mispillion Art League, a Milford-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The group offers classes, exhibit opportunities, a gallery open to the public, a gift shop featuring local artisans’ work, and an entirely free annual art festival for the past six years. The organization works with groups like Salvation Army Creative HeARTs and Kent-Sussex Industries to create free art education opportunities for underserved and disabled people locally. Also, seniors age 55+ have access to two monthly workshops at a discounted price.
