I now read the Cape Gazette from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, and I still see the same development arguments that I was part of in the early ’90s when Old Landing Road was mostly soybean fields. Sussex County Planning & Zoning approved pretty much everything to keep that transfer tax rolling in and DelDOT sat on its hands at all the planning meetings. Has anything really changed in 30 years? The last new development in my community here in the UK took 10 years to get approval, and that only with the national government getting involved.
