The Schooners Of Milton In The Early 20th Century

This postcard was mailed from Milton in 1908. It shows wharves in the Broadkill River in downtown Milton with three-masted schooners awaiting or discharging freight. For several decades, Milton was a shipbuilding town, famous for its multi-masted schooners that plied the eastern seaboard of the United States.
