Second Saturday events set in Milton June 8
The Milton Historical Society team is proud to be a part of Milton’s Second Saturday events, held the second Saturday of each month throughout Milton.
Various organizations and vendors set up from 12 to 3 p.m. inside and outside the museum (weather permitting) at 210 Union St., Milton. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Second Saturdays.
On June 8, the Milton Historical Society will once again host Paul’s Kitchen and Cullen-ary Company. Samples will be offered, and tasty sausage sandwiches will be available for purchase. Cullen, former bass player for the band Bad Company is a chef, sommelier and entrepreneur.
The Milton Arts Guild will have a featured guest artist, and MHS will demonstrate crafts and rope making. While in town, attendees should stop in and see the new exhibit, Walking Into Greatness: Bryan A. Stevenson, at the society. Docent-led tours are available between 1 and 3 p.m. Between noon and 3 p.m., the Saltwater Fly Anglers of Delaware will be on hand teaching the art of fly tying and fly casting, weather permitting.
The Milton Arts Guild will be helping with a children’s mural. Children are encouraged to show up and participate in this project, which may be continued Saturday, July 13.
The sounds of the Catch the Drift Duo will cap off the day from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the museum. The musicians put their own unique twist on a wide variety of pop, rock, reggae, blues, folk, and country songs people forgot they loved.
Beer and wine donated by Dogfish Head Brewery and Oak Creek Wines & Spirits will be available for purchase for those 21 and over with a valid ID. All proceeds will support MHS programs.
Museum admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of canned goods (no boxed or dry goods) and/or toiletries such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes to all Second Saturday events. MHS is collecting these supplies for the Milton Community Food Pantry, which assists local people in need.
