Seven Seahawks chart future flight paths as student-athletes
National Signing Day was Nov. 12, and despite its small size, Sussex Academy is proving it has big dreams on the athletic fields and courts.
Seven Sussex Academy student-athletes signed to play their respective sports at the collegiate level.
Christian Wright will continue swimming at Saint Peter’s in Jersey City, N.J.
Chase Ballinger is headed to Elizabethtown, Pa., to play soccer.
Kacie Rawlings will be tending goal for Lynchburg in Virginia next fall.
Victoria Evans signed on to swim at Bloomsburg in Pennsylvania.
Delainie Monitzer will become a Roadrunner with Delaware Tech’s softball team next year.
Shea Danahy inked her name to play lacrosse at Washington & Lee in Virginia.
Finally, Ryan Lowe is set to continue her field hockey career at Salisbury University.







Aaron Mushrush joined the sports team in Summer 2023 to help cover the emerging youth athletics scene in the Cape Region. After lettering in soccer and lacrosse at Sussex Tech, he played lacrosse at Division III Eastern University in St. David's, PA. Aaron coached lacrosse at Sussex Tech in 2009 and 2011. Post-collegiately, Mush played in the Eastern Shore Summer Lacrosse League for Blue Bird Tavern and Saltwater Lacrosse. He competed in several tournaments for the Shamrocks Lacrosse Club, which blossomed into the Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL). Aaron interned at the Coastal Point before becoming assistant director at WMDT-TV 47 ABC in 2017 and eventually assignment editor in 2018.
