Shannon Walls Smith, daycare provider

Shannon Nicole (Walls) Smith, 38, of Milford, died Monday, March 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.

Shannon was a graduate of Milford High School. She worked as a daycare provider at both Eagle’s Nest Church and at her home in Milford. She also worked for her father John at Walls Service Center in Milford. She was devoted to both her family and to the Lord. She was a member of Eagle’s Nest Fellowship Church, where as an aide, she taught kindergarten. She and her husband Tommy dedicated their time to and were very involved in the youth group at the church. Shannon also did missionary work in both Ecuador and Peru. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family, especially at the Outer Banks.

She is survived by her husband of nine years, Norman Thomas Smith IV; two sons, Trent Smith and Bryce Smith; her father, John Walls and his wife Donna; her mother, Donita Shockley-Hoover and her husband Oscar; her maternal grandmother, Dawn Argo; a brother, Colin Walls; three stepsisters, Debbie Bell, Darlene Workman, and Dawn St. Amand; and a stepbrother, Tony Hoover.

A Celebration of Shannon’s Life will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 27, at Eagle’s Nest Fellowship Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Eagle’s Nest Fellowship Church for Student Ministries, P.O. Box 129, Milton, DE 19968.
