Shields Elementary third-graders created displays highlighting their research into extreme weather.
Blizzards, hurricanes, tsunamis, thunderstorms and tornadoes highlighted a Shields Elementary weather publishing party Jan. 31.
Third-graders presented findings on research into how weather affects their lives and how to reduce adverse effects of extreme weather.
Students selected a weather phenomenon and learned how to describe it, in what climate it occurs, natural hazards it causes and how to stay safe during extreme weather events.
