Shirley Marie Bailey, retired bank officer

Shirley Marie Bailey, 76, of Bear and Lewes, passed away, Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of James L Bailey, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Born March 18, 1935 in Linwood, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes M McClain.

Shirley retired from Wilmington Trust where she worked as an operations officer. She enjoyed her beach home in Lewes and sitting by the window watching the hummingbirds. She loved babysitting her grandchildren, listening to country music, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid tennis and football fan.

In addition to her husband, Shirley will be dearly missed by her daughters, Lisa M. Bailey and Brenda L. Treible and her husband Jeff, all of Bear; grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, and Madelyn; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Charles H. McClain Jr.; and her sister, Dolores E. Bowden.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark. Family will begin to receive guests starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
