Shopping Cape starts Nov. 23 for chances to win big

The Cape Gazette, in partnership with presenting sponsors County Bank and Schell Brothers, is pleased to announce the return of Shopping Cape for the 2020 holiday season.

This year, consumers choosing to shop locally in the Cape Region will be rewarded with the opportunity to win local shopping sprees from a prize pool of $5,000 provided by County Bank and Schell Brothers.

For every $25 spent at participating Shopping Cape locations from Monday, Nov. 23 to Thursday, Dec. 24, shoppers will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three prizes. The first-prize winner will receive a $3,000 shopping spree to be used at any of the Shopping Cape participating locations. Two runners-up will receive $1,000 shopping sprees.

A 2019 Shopping Cape consumer survey revealed that 88 percent of respondents said they were likely (62 percent) or somewhat likely (26 percent) to participate in the Shopping Cape event again in 2020. With the economic impacts of the global pandemic looming over many small businesses, this upcoming holiday shopping season represents an extremely important time for the local economy.

This holiday shopping extravaganza features local businesses coming together to encourage everyone to support the local economy and spend their dollars with independently owned businesses this holiday season. Participating locations will be revealed Sunday, Nov. 22.
