After being closed for more than a month for repairs, the bridge crossing Silver Lake in Rehoboth reopened Dec. 14.
The work began Nov. 7 and was expected to be completed by Nov. 30, but Delaware Department of Transportation spokesman Charles McLeod said Dec. 4 that rain slowed contractors and work was not completed in the original time estimated. DelDOT’s contractor, Mumford & Miller Concrete Inc., replaced bridge joints, repaired adjacent approach asphalt roadway, repaired the timber slab and made minor concrete deck repairs on the bridge.
