Site work underway at The Lodge at Historic Lewes

223,000-square-foot senior living facility coming to Kings Highway
June 17, 2021

Dirt is moving on the future site of The Lodge at Historic Lewes on Kings Highway.

Planned is a 223,000-square-foot 175-unit senior living facility with independent and assisted-living units, and memory care apartments. It is being developed in partnership with Ocean Atlantic Companies and Vantage Point Retirement Living, and will be a sister community to The Lodge at Truitt Homestead in Rehoboth Beach.

When the community opens in 2023, it will comprise 78 independent living units, 65 assisted-living units and 32 memory care apartments.

The Lodge at Historic Lewes is designed to provide financial flexibility and peace of mind to its residents by offering services on a monthly rental basis with simple terms and flexible contracts. Monthly rents will include a variety of services and amenities, including access to multiple dining venues, weekly housekeeping, concierge services and 24-hour on-site maintenance. Vantage Point has been offering lifestyles under this financial model since 1995 and believes this to be a better fit for today’s seniors – now more than ever.

The last year has taught many lessons, especially the following:

• Life and your plans can change in an instant. At Lewes Lodge, residents retain control over their hard-earned investments and sign a simple agreement. Lease terms are flexible: one year in independent living, then month-to-month after that, and month-to-month in assisted living and memory care. This offers residents the flexibility to move to be closer to family without having to worry if/when they’ll get their entrance fee back

• The effects of isolation are great. Seniors, being among the most vulnerable population, were also the most impacted by the secondary effects of the pandemic. As people begin to see the light from the pandemic, Lewes Lodge and The Lodge at Truitt Homestead enable seniors to embrace their independence, live in exceptional surroundings and enjoy the physical, social and wellness benefits that come with living in a lifestyle community.

The community is already taking fully refundable deposits. For more information, call 302-703-1901 or go to vpretirement.com.

A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for later this summer.

On the Savannah Road side of the same property will be Dutchman’s Harvest, a 140-unit workforce housing community.
