Skate the Cape returns to Lewes

November 4, 2019
After a year hiatus, Faceplant Board Riders returned to Cape Henlopen State Park for a three-day Shred Fest called Skate the Cape. Attendees enjoyed a warm fall day with skate competitions, skate vendors, evenings with kickball and music around the campfire, and a beach cleanup.

“Really awesome people gathered at Cape Henlopen for a weekend full of surfing, skateboarding, music and good times,” said Rob Wheeler, coordinator of the event. “Skate the Cape will be held every other year, we’ll see you first weekend in November in 2021!”

Winners of the Classic Downhill Race Open Class were: Jared Beers first place, $150 and various swag; in second place was Aaron Gordy wining $100; and in third place was Mark Nicolaus taking home $50.
