Snyder-Hall an amazing option in RD 14

September 27, 2024

I went to work for Claire Snyder-Hall back in October 2021 as a temporary organizer at Common Cause with neither much knowledge nor care for the work that was being done. Not that I didn’t think that the work of expanding voting rights or making the government cleaner and better functioning was important, just that it wasn’t my passion. But it was Claire’s passion, and Claire is one of those rare and amazing people who don’t simply lead but also inspire, breathing the fire of passion into those around them. Over the months I worked for Claire, I went from largely indifferent to a passionate advocate thanks to her.

But more than just an inspiring leader, Claire is a person filled with compassion and care for those around her. Coming out of the COVID lockdown having lost a very important job, I felt deeply insecure about my ability to do the task that Claire had set before me. However, Claire had complete faith in me and my ability to get the job done, and would often stay on the phone with me late at night, encouraging me.

RD 14 deserves not only someone who will be a fierce advocate for honest government and fair elections, but also someone who has the capacity to make the work she does about more than herself and her own ego. And more than anything else, it needs someone who has a deep sense of compassion and earnestness. I envy you all in that you have such an amazing option to represent you in Dover. Vote for Claire Snyder-Hall in the election Tuesday, Nov. 5.
