Son-Rise at the Beach Sunday services set on Rehoboth Beach

July 18, 2015

For the months of July and August, New Covenant Church PCA will be holding 8:30 a.m. Son-rise on the Beach Sunday worship services on Rehoboth Beach at the end of Rehoboth Avenue. The service is designed both for those who are local and for those who are enjoying a vacation stay along the coast.

Everyone knows traffic is an issue on Route 1 during church hours each Sunday, so this service brings church to the beach. Seeing the sun rise over the ocean is a beautiful backdrop for the good news being shared, that the son of God rose from the dead after lovingly paying the penalty for humans' sins by his substitutionary death on the cross.

The service is designed to bring people together regardless of denominational lines or even of religious experience, to encounter the living and true God of the Bible. Each Sunday’s message will focus on one of the parables of Jesus from the gospel of Luke. These stories can open people's eyes of faith to see this world as God sees it. Each service will begin and end with singing praise to God.

New Covenant Church PCA is a Bible-believing community which began in Rehoboth about 15 years ago. New Covenant has since grown into a regional church, drawing people from Bethany, Seaford and Milford. Their passion is to communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ by word and by deed. This event is to bring the gospel message to where the world is during the summer. For more information, go to ncpchurch.com.

Each Sunday, attendees will gather around a cross raised on the sand at the end of Rehoboth Avenue. This location provides for good walking access as well as free parking for those who drive. The service begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour. Parking is free in Rehoboth until 10 a.m. Since this location is on the beach, attendees are asked to bring a chair or towel or blanket for seating. A simple tent provides shade for those who desire it.

New Covenant Presbyterian Church cares about the community and about God’s message of hope and change. New Covenant is a missional church family who believes that the good news of Christ’s salvation changes everything. Know Christ/Know Peace; No Christ/No Peace.

In case of rain, the service will be cancelled and all are invited to New Covenant Presbyterian Church's regular worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Kings Highway in Lewes, just one block off Route 1. For more information, go to ncpchurch.com.
