South African adventures with the Cape Gazette

September 20, 2025

Paul and Melissa Evans recently traveled to South Africa for a two-week adventure. During their stay, they went on safari and saw a wide variety of animals, including zebras, giraffes, elephants, rhinoceroses, and ostriches. They also visited Boulders Beach near Cape Town, where they spent time observing the African penguins. African penguins are the only penguin species native to the African continent. Sadly, their population has declined dramatically in recent decades, with fewer than 20,000 breeding pairs remaining in the wild. They are now classified as critically endangered.
