SouthDel Sidekick: Southern Delaware Tourism launches app for visitors and locals

December 3, 2019

SouthDel Sidekick is a new web-based app that visitors (and locals) can easily save to their phone or tablet home screens without the hassle of downloading. This user-friendly app contains tons of information right at users’ fingertips when they’re out and about exploring Sussex County. They’ll find destination information, local businesses, events, entertainment, restaurants, activities, weather reports and a whole lot more.

The Sidekick app includes GPS functionality and integrates with TripAdvisor and Google Maps, allowing those using it to find nearby attractions and businesses. The app provides Southern Delaware hotels and tourism partners with a new concierge tool to enhance visitors’ experiences while they explore Sussex County. It also allows businesses like restaurants, outfitters, tour operators, and other tourism partners to promote their offerings with Super Deals, which they upload into the app.

Along with being a useful tool for visitors who are already in town, Sidekick will also come in handy for future visitors who have booked their accommodations and wish to plan activities during their stay.

“In addition to SDT’s primary mission of attracting overnight visitors, we also work to encourage our visitors to explore throughout Sussex County while they’re here. We’re really excited that this app does exactly that,” says Scott Thomas, executive director of Southern Delaware Tourism.

To find the app, go to www.SouthDelSidekick.com on a smartphone or tablet and click on Add to Home Screen. Reply a wide to register. One doesn’have to register to access information, but if one does register, one will be able to “favorite” things and won’t have to enter an email address when claiming Super Deals in the future.
