St. Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church to open in July in Lewes

St. Andrew the Apostle, an Eastern Orthodox church, is set to open in July.

Looking at the site plan to start construction on MacKenzie Way in Lewes are (l-r) Nick Spalaris, parish council chairman; Nathan Zimmerman, stormwater inspector, Sussex County Conservation District; and Rick Webster of Melvin Joseph Construction Co.

The church was custom designed as a modular for Eastern Orthodox worship by Residential Construction Services and Excel Custom Homes. The modules are scheduled to be delivered and set Monday, Feb. 27, with completion planned for early July.

Presently, Sunday services are held at the Henlopen Grange Hall, 1528 Savannah Road, Lewes. Divine Liturgy is held at 9:30 a.m. For more information, contact the parish priest, Father Boniface Black, at 302-645-5791.
