St. Jude to host Faith on Fire conference Sept. 29

St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes will host Faith on Fire, a Catholic Charismatic Renewal conference, Saturday, Sept. 29. Registration is $25. There is no charge for clergy, religious, seminarians, or children under 12. St. Jude Church is at 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, off Route 1 north of the Five Points intersection.  

Kicking off the event at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, will be Mary and Carman Lando of SpiritFire Music Ministry in Hopewell Junction, N.Y. They will lead an adoration and praise service, including the traditional Eucharistic procession in the midst of the congregation. 

Sat., Sept. 29, will open at 9 a.m. with praise. Kathleen McCarthy, successor to the late Dom Lateri as host of the Philly radio program “In His Sign,” will give two presentations. Also speaking and celebrating the 4 p.m. Eucharist will be Fr. Bernie Ezaki, a blind priest serving in Easton, Pa. A box lunch will be available in the parish hall for $10.  Several priests will hear confessions from 3 to 4 p.m. 

Fr. Ezaki will preach parish Masses at 7 and 8:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 30; he will also celebrate and preach the 10:30 a.m. liturgy.   

For over three decades, the Diocese of Wilmington has offered a fall annual weekend conference. It began in Ocean City, Md., relocated to Rehoboth Beach Convention Center for more than 20 years, then returned to Holy Savior Church in Ocean City a few years ago.
