The Starboard took home the trophy at the eighth annual Restaurant Olympics, held Aug. 7 at Dickinson Avenue bayside next to the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach.

“It’s the second time in three years we’ve won,” The Starboard owner Steve “Monty” Montgomery said. “Aside from bragging rights, it really shows the unity of our staff at The Starboard. And in the August grind, with everyone short-staffed, any time we get a chance to get together and have fun is always great.”

The event, hosted by the Dewey Business Partnership, saw 20 area restaurants compete against each other in tray races, ball relay, cup relay, dizzy bats and raft races. Bottle & Cork placed second, Northbeach third and Woody’s fourth.

Dewey Beach Partnership Executive Director Kellyann Palladino-Ranieri said the event raised $3,600 the partnership will use toward family friendly activities.
