State Farm agent Kim Benton donates to Cancer Support Community

March 28, 2021

Quotes for Good is a State Farm campaign that encourages local agents to get involved in their communities and support great causes.

During October 2020, every referral for a quote received by Kim Benton, a State Farm Insurance agent in Millsboro, generated a $10 donation to Cancer Support Community Delaware.

In total, $250 was raised for the community in sponsorship of The Pink Affair. Most years in October, the Pink Affair annual luncheon and fashion show is held at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach to raise funds to benefit Cancer Support Community Delaware.

Benton and the team at the Millsboro location also plan to partner for the community’s upcoming 11th Annual Wings of Hope: A Butterfly Release to be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 19, at Stango Park in Lewes. “We are delighted to partner with such a community-centered business who is enthusiastic about doing good. We value the time and effort Kim and her staff put into raising funds for our critical work. Every dollar counts,” said Michelle Mallon, special event coordinator for Sussex County Cancer Support Community Delaware. “CSCDE has spent the past 25 years making our mission our tradition, by striving to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Cancer continues to be a significant problem in Delaware and particularly in Sussex County. We provide emotional support services and educational programs that promote a better quality of life to our friends, family and neighbors who are living with cancer,” said Nicole Topkis Pickles, Cancer Support Community Delaware executive director.

The Cancer Support Community is part of a national nonprofit organization that provides support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones.
