State park friends to host chocolate tasting fundraiser Sept. 6

August 29, 2025

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park will host its annual chocolate tasting from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Officer’s Club in the park,14628 Officers Club Road, Lewes. Park entrance fees will be in effect.

This popular event draws both chocolate lovers and park supporters for an afternoon of sweet indulgence and community fun, all for a good cause. With an array of chocolate confections to sample and plenty of parking, it’s the perfect way to spend a September afternoon. The Friends will also host a bake sale featuring delicious, chocolatey treats donated by member bakers, and a 50/50 raffle for a chance to win a sweet prize.

New for 2025, tickets can be purchased in advance through the Friends website, fochsp.org; cost is $10 per person and includes six tasting tickets. Online ticket buyers will enjoy priority entrance, skipping the day-of sale ticket line for faster access to the treats. Tickets will also be sold at the door during the event.

All event proceeds support the Friends’ Thatcher Education Fund, which has helped more than 1,500 students experience nature programs at the park.
