Station 77 celebrates the 80th Annual Oyster Eat

March 2, 2017

Fun and fellowship was the order of the evening as nearly 1,000 men enjoyed thousands of raw and steamed oysters, smoking stogies, drinking beer and shooting the bull as the Georgetown Fire Station 77 celebrated the 80th year of the annual Oyster Eat fundraiser Feb. 24. Hard-boiled eggs, hot dogs and egg salad sandwiches were available for the non-shellfish eating patrons. It was all washed down with kegs and kegs of beer and coolers filled with non-alcoholic sodas.

A live auction by State Rep. Dave Wilson featured a Rocky and Neal Greene handmade knife which brought over $3,000 for Station 77.

Bluegrass band Dean Sapp and the Harford Express kept the patrons jumping and toe tapping throughout the evening. Some of the crowd even grabbed a partner and clogged on the sawdust covered floor.

The Oyster Eat is the largest fundraiser for Station 77.
