In the not-too-distant future, users of the playground on Stockley Street in Rehoboth will have a nice, shaded area to relax. During a commissioner meeting Feb. 15, City Manager Sharon Lynn announced site work for a new $25,000 pavilion had been completed and the structure would be delivered and constructed later in the month.

In an email Feb. 19, city spokeswoman Krys Johnson said a little more than half of the project – $13,112 – is being paid for with community transportation funds through Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes. She said the city is installing the pavilion in response to several years of requests for a shaded area in the popular and well-utilized park from the Country Club Estates community.
