Delmarva Power continues to monitor the local energy grid as strong winds and other potential weather events may affect its service areas. The utility is prepared to respond to any potential service interruptions that may be caused by these conditions.
Customers who are experiencing a service disruption should contact Delmarva Power at 1-800-898-8042. The safety of customers and employees is always its top priority.
Here are a few tips on storm preparation Delmarva Power shares with customers.
• Assemble an emergency storm kit with a battery-powered radio, flashlight, first-aid kit, blankets, battery-powered or windup clock, extra batteries, medications, multipurpose tool, and list of important/emergency phone numbers
• Keep on hand enough bottled water and nonperishable, easy-to-prepare food for at least 72 hours
• Place flashlights on every floor of the home, and make sure they have fresh batteries
• Identify an alternate location for family members to gather in case of an extended outage
• Use generators safely. Follow manufacturer instructions. Never connect a generator directly to home wiring or use it indoors or in enclosed spaces.
Customers who rely on electricity to power life-support equipment should enroll in the Emergency Medical Equipment Notification Program at delmarva.com/EMENP for advance alerts on outages and severe weather.
