Wayne Ney invites anyone seeking to know more about Jesus Christ to a book launch party celebrating the recent release of his book, "The Story of the Messiah."  The event will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at Cokesbury Worship Center four miles west of Georgetown on Route 18. Refreshments, door prizes, music, entertainment  and books will be offered.

In his description of this work, Russ Kessler of Voice of Victory Prison Ministry said, "It is with great pleasure that I wholeheartedly recommend this outstanding book. Wayne has taken the complex and made it simple. This book will be a blessing to the reader."

Larry Lilly, an ambassador for Risk Takers for Christ LLC and former chaplain at Sussex Correctional Institution, said, "It was during the darkest days of his life when I first became acquainted with Wayne while he was incarcerated at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, Delaware, where I served as the chaplain. While in this 'crucible season' and as a result of his commitment to Jesus Christ, God directed him to write this book. I am honored to call Wayne a friend and to recommend his labor of love for God's glory!"

Born, raised and schooled in Delaware, Ney taught in various elementary schools in the state's southern county throughout the '80s and '90s. After a tragic event he ended up in prison and spent the next 17 years behind bars.

Although he first blamed God for his downfall, he soon realized the fault was all his and that, if anything, God's hand had stayed a much more disastrous outcome. Then, while counting his blessings and striving to become the best inmate possible, he facilitated various groups and programs, and helped over 200 residents receive their high school diplomas. After earning a graduate-level degree in biblical studies, Ney began writing "The Story of the Messiah."

In April 2013, he re-entered society with the loving support of his two children, both of whom have forgiven him, and it’s to them that he dedicates this project.
