Sussex Academy softball grounded by Red Wolves

April 12, 2026

The Sussex Academy softball team moved to 4-2 on the season with a 4-1 loss to Conrad School of Sciences April 11 in Georgetown.

Freshman shortstop Danica “DB” Bergh went 2-for-3 with a lead-off triple in the first. Junior Grayce Glover went 1-for-3 and knocked in Bergh for the only run in the bottom of the first. Senior Ryan Lowe delivered a 2-for-3 performance. Delainie Monitzer had a hit in the first.

“We didn’t feel like we played our best game today,” said Sussex Academy coach Gerald Jester. “Their pitcher did a great job against us. We gave away too many runs today. We needed some timely hits early in the game when we had runners on, but we didn’t make it happen. It’s the little stuff that wins games, and we didn’t do the little stuff today.”

“It’s a tough loss for us,” said Bergh. “Conrad’s a really good team. I feel like this game will motivate us to do better. We have Tech next week, and they are a good team too.”

The Seahawks will take on the Ravens Tuesday, April 14, at the Georgetown Little League complex.
