Sussex Academy students fundraising for LLS research
Sussex Academy students Lily Manlove and Amalia Scruggs are working together to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Under the name Connect for a Cure, the girls are participating in the LLS Students of the Year Fundraiser. Manlove said the campaign is a seven-week philanthropic competition in which teams across the region compete to raise the most money. All funds raised through their campaign go directly toward cancer research, treatments and patient care, she said.
To help win the competition, Manlove and Scruggs have teamed up with Schell Brothers’ Project Kudos. Manlove said since Feb. 1, Project Kudos is donating $1 for every kudo that earns comments on their team’s social media accounts or Project Kudos’ account. The partnership with Project Kudos ends Feb. 14, she said.
