Sussex Academy welcomes Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay
Sussex Academy students and staff welcomed Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay Dec. 1 for a campus tour and lunch-and-learn session in the school library.
Students Olivia Dickerson, Ava Watkins and Joab Edmond first guided Gay around the secondary campus, where she was able to visit classrooms, learn about pathways of study and explore the natatorium.
Following the tour, Gay joined members of Sussex Academy’s Student Government Association for lunch in the library. Students asked Gay about her background, experience and legislative priorities, including early childhood education, artificial intelligence in education, and the infrastructure and growth shaping their local community.
Head of School Kyle Bentley said the discussion showcased students’ curiosity, leadership and commitment to understanding issues that impact both their school and the broader community.
Sussex Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school in Georgetown.
