The draw of low taxes and low crime for people from cities all over the country has created a building boom here that is intensifying annually.
The county desperately needs to stop evading the enacting of an adequate public facilities ordinance immediately, as Kent and New Castle have successfully, to coordinate growth with infrastructure.
The developers, mostly from out of town, flock here to avoid the restrictions and improvement costs they are subjected to, and needs that an APFO would mandate. Their profits due to that fact are tremendous. Greed to the utmost.
With a APFO …
1. Developers are responsible for the adequate infrastructure to support the project
2. Schools, health, road and traffic needs to be completed first instead of the cart-before-the-horse strategy at present
3. Adherence to and improved setbacks, buffers and practical distances from roadway
4. Recognize the effect on natural habitats, air, water and quality of life.
A health-before-wealth common-sense mandate.
Of course the powers that be will continue to suspiciously refuse this solution.
