Sussex Pride sets bus trip to New York Pride Parade June 26

LGBTQ organization to serve Sussex County and the State of Delaware
June 14, 2022

Founding board members of Sussex Pride are excited to announce the birth of the new nonprofit organization that will work to celebrate, strengthen and support the LGBTQ community in Sussex County and the state of Delaware.

Committed to serving all of Sussex County and all LGBTQ community members, Sussex Pride has worked to assemble a diverse board of directors.

To identify and prioritize LGBTQ communities that need help the most, Sussex Pride will be conducting a countywide needs assessment. It will take into account the needs of LGBTQ youth, transgender and nonbinary individuals, LGBTQ people of color, LGBTQ seniors, and those living in more rural areas of the state.

A 501c3 nonprofit organization, Sussex Pride is a member of the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement. It also is a member of CenterLink, a network of LGBTQ community centers.

Sussex Pride is one of several LGBTQ organizations that were beneficiaries of the June 14 Can’t Cancel Pride online concert featuring Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Anitta Dove Cameron, Kim Petras and Betty Who, and hosted by JoJo Siwa.

For its first in-person event Sunday, June 26, Sussex Pride invites community members on a bus trip to New York to celebrate the New York City Pride Parade.
