Sussex Supports Beebe Healthcare Campaign raises $60M

December 16, 2025

Beebe Healthcare and the Beebe Medical Foundation have completed the Sussex Supports Beebe Healthcare Campaign, a philanthropic initiative that raised more than $60 million to expand access, support innovation and ensure high-quality healthcare for the future of Sussex County.

“Reaching this milestone is a testament to what makes Sussex County so extraordinary,” said Dr. David A. Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO. “This community understands that healthcare is a shared investment in our future. Because of this generosity, Beebe is stronger, more innovative and more prepared to meet the needs of a rapidly growing region.”

Launched in 2021, the campaign was designed to reinforce Beebe’s core service lines while expanding new programs essential to a rapidly growing community. Guided by a commitment to accessible, community-centered care, the campaign invested in patient experience, talent development, technology and infrastructure.

Community generosity fueled critical expansions across Beebe, including the R. Randall Rollins Center for Medical Education, Beebe’s mobile health fleet, the Center for Breast Health and Beebe’s Cardiovascular Institute.

“The campaign demonstrates the essential role philanthropy plays in ensuring high-quality, accessible care,” said Khalil Saliba, Beebe Medical Foundation board chair. “The generosity of our donors has expanded programs, elevated services and ensured that Beebe remains a leader in community health.”

Investments from the Rocco A. and Mary Abessinio Foundation, the Delaware Atlantis Fund and the Ma-Ran Foundation, along with major gifts from several anonymous donors and the estate of Robert J. and Lois H. White set the pace for others to join. Strategic support from federal and state partners, including American Rescue Plan Act funds and Congressionally Directed Spending, empowered Beebe to advance its mobile community outreach and behavioral health programs. Support from Highmark BluePrints for the Community helped build the new Long Neck Primary Care and Family Medicine Residency Practice.

“This achievement reflects years of trust, engagement and shared purpose,” said Kay Young, Beebe Medical Foundation executive director of development. “Every gift – large or small – helped build critical programs to improve the health of our community. We are deeply grateful to the 1916 Leadership Giving Club, whose steady commitment strengthens Beebe year after year.”

“Serving as campaign chair has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Ann Raskauskas, Sussex Supports Beebe Healthcare Campaign chair. “This milestone represents dedication from people in every corner of Sussex County who care deeply about Beebe’s ability to grow and care for our growing community.”

As Sussex County continues its rapid growth, Beebe Healthcare will build on this campaign’s momentum to expand specialty access, invest in technology and emerging care models, strengthen the healthcare workforce and continue delivering exceptional, compassionate care close to home.
