Sussex Tech Coast Guard JROTC succeeds in drill competition
Sussex Technical High School Coast Guard JROTC students participated in a statewide drill competition at the Delaware Military Academy.
They finished with two first places trophies for varsity and JV color guard teams, second place trophies for varsity unarmed drill and varsity armed drill, and a third place overall.
The varsity color guard comprised Esteban Gonzalez-Chan, Jason Vaughn, Noah Sammons and Bedsaida Raymond. JV Color Guard team members were Kendall Tombaugh, Jamie Miranda, Janet Miranda-Perez and Noah James.
Placing second in varsity unarmed drill was Esteban Gonzalez-Chan, commander; and in varsity armed drill, Noah Sammons, commander.
Sussex Tech’s Coast Guard JROTC program started in the 2022-2023 school year. The public high school prepares Sussex County students for their future success in workforce environments, higher education and military service.
