Sussex Tech defeats Delcastle 36-25

The 1993 Sussex Tech state championship football team was honored during a pregame ceremony Sept. 8, providing inspiration to the 2023 squad to garner a 36-25 win over visiting Delcastle.
Sussex Tech running back Zion Roach scored four touchdowns in the Ravens’ victory. Quarterback Zane Adams hit tight end Brock O’Day for the other score. Tech placekicker Matt Persaud was successful on four extra points.
The Ravens’ defense scored two on a safety in the third quarter.
Delcastle quarterback Aidan Hill threw two scoring passes to Marquez Langford and another to T'Zion Allen. He also ran for a touchdown.
The 2-0 Ravens travel to Conrad Saturday, Sept. 16. Game time is 11 a.m. Delcastle visits Cape Henlopen at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15.
Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
