Sussex Tech students learn about Holocaust, visit museum in D.C.

October 27, 2025

Sussex Tech High School students in Sara Messina’s ninth-grade world history class, along with students from 10th-grade world history and U.S. history classes, took a field trip Oct. 3, to visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

The field trip was made possible, in part, through funding from the Halina Wind Preston Holocaust Education Committee and the Arnold D. Kerr Holocaust Education Endowment Fund, programs of the Jewish Federation of Delaware.

This visit followed a classroom presentation to Messina’s ninth-grade world history class last month by Warren Rosenfeld of Rosenfeld’s Holocaust Education Fund, who shared his family’s personal experiences during the Holocaust.

Sussex Technical High School is a public school that prepares Sussex County students for their future success in workforce environments, higher education and the military.
