Tanger school grant applications due March 16

February 25, 2018

The TangerKIDS Grant Program awards grant money to schools within the communities of Tanger Outlet Centers nationwide, and the call for entries has opened in the Rehoboth Beach community. Designed to satisfy the specific funding needs of local schools, requested grants can support educational programs, equipment, special projects or specific department needs including the implementation of schoolwide programs, the rebuilding of equipment and academic materials inventories, or supporting athletic or band programs.

A Tanger-appointed grant committee will review all requests and select which school(s) will receive funding for the upcoming school year. Grants will be considered based on scope and need as illustrated on the request form. The dollars available may be split among multiple grant requests.

Teachers and administrators from local schools serving kindergarten through 12th grade may submit applications for programs and projects in which the majority of the activity will be completed between August 2018 and May 2019. Each school may submit multiple grant requests, and each will be considered separately.

To submit an application, go to http://grants.tangeroutlet.com. Each applicant must set up a profile in the system to submit a request. This will allow applicants to log on and make edits to a submission before it is complete, or to review a grant request once it has been submitted. To be considered, applications must be submitted online by Friday, March 16.

In 2017, Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth awarded a total of $5,000 in grants to the following local schools: Morris Early Childhood Center for the program Using Math Manipulatives to Strengthen Young Minds; Lord Baltimore Elementary for the program Intervention with Osmo, and iPads and for the program Lord Baltimore Robotics; North Georgetown Elementary for the program Reading Is Fun; and Southern Delaware School of the Arts for the program Learning With Legos.
