TangerKids grants winners announced

January 27, 2024

As part of a continued commitment to support education and invest in the local community, Tanger Outlets Rehoboth Beach announced its 2023 TangerKids Grants recipients are North Georgetown, Georgetown and John M. Clayton elementary schools.

North Georgetown Elementary will use its grant to purchase materials to help support the third-grade reading and language development program.

Georgetown Elementary will use its grant to support the need for audio equipment including earbuds and headphones with microphones. This equipment is essential in developing vocabulary knowledge and comprehension skills.

The John M. Clayton Elementary grant will allow students to receive upgraded building kits for their robotics program. The updated kits will give the teams more viable opportunities while participating in competitions.

Tanger Rehoboth Beach will donate a total of $4,000 across the community to fund classroom investments through the TangerKids Grants program. More than half of grant funding across all centers is allocated to support underserved schools for programs including special education initiatives, hygiene and clothing closets, literacy efforts, STEM and more.

“Tanger is dedicated to strengthening the community, and supporting educational opportunities for local students is a key priority for us each year,” said Michele Doucette, Tanger Rehoboth Beach marketing director. “These grants were requested directly by Sussex County teachers for meaningful projects that enhance learning environments and contribute to students’ success both in and out of the classroom.”
