Terri L. Kirschner, devoted to family
Terri L. Kirschner, 77, of Lewes, passed away surrounded by her family Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at Brandywine Memory Care after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born June 24, 1944, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Chandler Wesley Logan Sr. and Blanche Elizabeth (Dobbins) Logan.
Terri was a 1962 graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College, graduating with an associate degree in 1964.
Terri married the love of her life, Richard Kirschner, at Silverbrook Methodist Church, March 21, 1964, in Wilmington. Their life together spanned 58 years. She took great pride in her career as a homemaker, dedicating her life to the loving support of her spouse, their two sons, and seven grandchildren. An avid animal lover, she cherished and meticulously cared for their many pets over the years (Missy, Sweetie, Velvet, Pugslie, Tiki, Belle, Nellie, and Tillie). She was an excellent cook, accomplished seamstress, and master knitter. She had a fond love for spending time at the beach, going on cruises, and volunteering in the PTO at in the Colonial School District and the Cape Henlopen School District as a teacher’s aide. She just loved being anywhere amongst her family, but her favorite hobby was doting on and talking about her seven grandchildren. Terri was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all those who have been with Terri during this journey: The staff at Seasons Hospice, Griswold Home Care (especially Vashti Jones), Meals on Wheels of Lewes, neighbors and friends of Pilottown Village, and the staff at Brandywine Memory Care.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard A. Kirschner Sr.
Terri is survived by her sons: Richard A. Kirschner Jr. (Cindy) of Beaumont, Texas, and Wesley C. Kirschner (Betsy) of Lewes; her grandchildren of whom she was so proud: Evan (Maddie), Ryan (Cara), Caroline, and Owen, all of Texas, and Wesley, Jayson, and Terri, all of Lewes; and her brother, Chandler Wesley (Wes) Logan Jr. (Sherri) of Newark.
